Created in 1995 and located on the former
Fort Clayton military base with a view overlooking the Panama Canal, The City
of Knowledge is an international complex for education, research, and
innovation. It has been developed to promote and facilitate synergy between
universities, scientific research centers, businesses, and international
organizations. The City of Knowledge is governed by a private, non-profit
organization and its many tenants include a variety of international
organizations such as: UNICEF, Peace Corps, World Food Program, Special
Olympics, International Fund for Agricultural Development and CARE
International.
